HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE BROAD BROOK SCHOOL WEBSITE.

Our PreK to Grade 4 school provides a supportive transition from home to school through our strong partnership with parents, teachers and students.  The mission of our school is to offer our entire community of learners a varied and challenging curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.  The school community is committed to developing respectful behaviors, personal responsibility and productive citizenship.  As a school we are working to implement the Responsive Classroom approach and to increase inclusive opportunities for all students.  Our goal is to have classroom learning environments where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally by learning from each other and through instruction that addresses their specific needs.

We encourage parents to develop a positive working relationship with their students’ teachers.  Parents can take an active role in their child’s education by volunteering at school, working with children at home and by having conversations about learning at home.  Teachers can be reached through voice mail, email or by calling the school. Weekly updates are available on the Parent Bulletin link.

Our Birth to School Family Resource Center supports families’ life long learning through play groups, parent education opportunities and before and after-school childcare.  For more information click on the Parent Bulletin link.

Based on students’ and families’ Hopes and Dreams for the coming school year, classrooms developed classroom rules.  These classroom rules were brought to our first ever Constitutional Convention.  Representatives from each classroom have formed the following Broad Brook School Constitution:

The Broad Brook School Preamble and Constitution

We, the students of Broad Brook School, in order to form a more perfect school, create fairness, insure peace, and promote the general happiness and safety to ourselves and future students do proclaim and establish this constitution for the Broad Brook School:

  1. Always do your best and help each other to learn.

  2. Cooperate and be honest with others.

  3. Take care of ourselves and others on the inside and the outside.

  4. Take care of our classroom and the school.

The agreement of the representatives of students from Grades Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 4 shall be sufficient for the establishment of this Constitution.

The representatives of all classrooms present this constitution for the Broad Brook School on

September 27, 2007.

This constitution represents the rules of Broad Brook School.

HELP LINE

The East Windsor Police Department School Resource Officer maintains a telephone line which allows callers, wishing to remain anonymous, to leave information which they believe to be unsafe for students at school.  All calls will be recorded on a voice message system.  There is no way to identify or contact the caller unless they leave that information in their recorded message.

Starting immediately, the line will be open 24 hrs per day, 7 days per week.  The East Windsor School Resource Officer posted at the high school will check the line twice a day during school days. When a person calls the HELP LINE they will hear the following message:

“Thank you for calling the HELP LINE.  If this is an emergency, please hang up and dial 911 now.  To report a concern about safety at one of the schools in East Windsor, please listen carefully to the rest of this announcement and wait for the tone to leave your message.  After you hear the tone, state clearly and slowly the name of the school, a description of the unsafe situation, and provide the names or descriptions of the persons involved to the best of your ability.  You do not need to leave your name.  Please remember, the more information we receive the better we can assist you and the safer your schools will be.  Thanks for your call” (TONE)

The HELP LINE number is 463-7248
