Welcome to the Homepage of East Windsor Public SchoolS

March has been an exciting and thrilling month for East Windsor Public Schools.  Our High School Varsity Boys Basketball team won the Class S Championship with an awesome victory over Cromwell!  Congratulations to the team and to Coach Thomas for a wonderful season.  Go Panthers!!

The High School Drama Club put on a production of Grease and it was sensational.  The students worked so hard and had to overcome many obstacles, including weather, but in the end, they delivered a superb performance.  The Middle School Drama Club presented a fantastic production of Snow White. The kids did a great job on their productions!

This year, we have seen school pride flourish throughout the district.   Pride is defined as “a feeling of self-respect and personal worth” and we have felt that sentiment this year.    To become prideful in our schools, as educators we must demonstrate enthusiasm, hard work, and caring.  Our caring staff brings out the best in our students every day.  In turn, they have the opportunity to witness the enthusiasm, hard work, and pride of their pupils.

Our students recently participated in the CMT and CAPT testing.  CAPT testing was conducted throughout the month of March and Mr. Chambers commented, “We began with hyping students up for producing at a high level.  In line with the research on Brain Based Learning, we decided to provide 9th and 10th grade students with breakfast and conversation prior to starting their CAPT testing.”  Mr. Chambers also mentioned, “Collectively, teachers felt that students were well prepared for the test and they were, in fact, eager to take the test.  Overall, the staff felt that students took the test seriously and, based on teacher observations, students answered the questions thoroughly and extensively.”

Broad Brook School Principal, Mrs. McCarroll stated, “Our third and fourth graders worked diligently on CMT’s during the month of March.  We are so proud of their hard work and dedication.”  The same is true of the Middle School.  Mr. Slattery stated, “The students took the CMT’s seriously and impressed us with their eagerness.”  We are proud of our students’ many accomplishments.

On March 15, all kindergarten students enjoyed their second Book Buddy celebration of the year.  The Book Buddy Program was organized three years ago by Midge Pych, Director of our Family Resource Center.  Three times each year, books are purchased by community members for their special kindergarten Book Buddy.  The students are thrilled with the wide variety of books to add to their personal libraries. We are thankful for the generosity of all the people in the community who make this program such a success.

Thank you for supporting the school system this year.  We appreciate it very much.  As always, we encourage you to get involved in the many events and active committees in our school community.

Sincerely,

Timothy S. Howes                                                                                           Superintendent of Schools
