  1. Report cards will be distributed today during ELE.
  2. Teacher Recommendation Day will be held on Wednesday.  On this day, we will run a 7 period schedule.  Students will receive their registration sheet in their A period class and will return their sheet to their H period teacher. The class schedule is noted here.
  3. Are you up for the challenge?  The Physical Education Dept. is hosting a Panther Pride Volleyball Tournament.  There will be 2 entries per grade allowed in the tournament.  All teams must have 3 girls and 3 boys.  You may list a 7th player as an alternate in case someone is sick the day of the challenge.  The contest will take place during ELE on February 28th.  All entries must be submitted to Ms. Drake.  If there are more than 2 entries per grade there will be a play-off scheduled before the finals to determine the 2 teams that will represent their grade.  The sophomores think that they can win it all?  Are they right? 
  4. College bound students:  Seton Hall, New Jersey - Upcoming open house for high school sophomores and juniors will be held on Saturday, April 28th.  See guidance or bulletin board outside the nurse's office for more details

New England Institute of Technology is hosting a "Tech Nite Open House" on Tuesday, February 7th from 4:00 -8:00 pm on their Rhode Island Campus at 1408 Division Rd., East Greenwich.  Come anytime during those hours and explore the labs & classrooms, talk with instructors, tour the campus and meet with financial aid and admissions officers.
  5. Best Buy is awarding up to $1.2 million in scholarships for students in grades 9 - 12! That's 1,200 scholarships of $1,000 each.  Students need solid grades plus community service or work experience.  Applications are being accepted up to February 15, 2012. See guidance for copy of the flier.

The contests are designed to encourage students to explore career choices and the employment skills required.  Please see #52 on the scholarship board in guidance.

  2. ELE change: Mrs. Tudryn’s groups, which were to meet this past Tuesday, are rescheduled for Monday during ELE.
  3. Skiers: We will be making a trip to ski/snowboard at Okemo Mountain (Southern Vermont). It will be a first come, first serve trip (50 spots). Family members are invited to attend! Date: Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 7:00 am bus leaves from the Middle School. Permission slips can be obtained from Ms. Drake.
  4.   1. Tonight, the English Department will hold the third annual school contest for Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest. Fourteen students from East Windsor High School will participate in the Poetry Out Loud school contest. The competition will be held in the school auditorium from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Attendance is free and open to the public.
  2. Tomorrow starts the 2nd semester. New student schedules will be distributed during ELE today.
  3. Applications are now being accepted for the 2012 Cox Scholarship program. Seniors who excel academically, demonstrate a strong community involvement and are interested in pursuing a degree in communications, telecommunications, engineering or technology are encouraged to apply.  Deadline is March 5, 2012.  Please see guidance scholarship board for more information.
  4.
